The Noize Choir is a non-traditional voice choir formed by artists, Marek Gabrysch and Lindsay Duncanson in 2011.  Using only the human voice and innovative uses of microphones and props, the choir create compositions using the extreme edges of the voice to produce new ways to make sound.

Singing the Outer Frequencies is a new composition inspired by the strange and random content that sits on the borderline of ‘radio listening. It is based on broadcast oddities found along the electromagnetic spectrum such as test tones, the end of analogue transmission broadcasts, data tones and spy number stations alongside the ‘20 second idler’, a twenty second tone broadcast hourly or the woody woodpecker Russian radar transmissions.

This wonderfully unique performance at the Tyneside Cinema was the first live performance of Singing the Outer Frequencies with other compositions including Christmas Carols (as never heard before!).

We also conducted a live chat with The Noize Choir on Thursday 22 December, 8.30pm on basic.fm!
