Lucy Pawlak specialises in participatory work that looks at how we act together. She explores how and why we conform to systems and what the possibility of breaking with a pattern might offer. Her film The Inspection House (training for the family in how to act) develops this idea by telling the story of a man who returns home to his strange family with the intention of coercing them into forming a drama group. He attempts to train them in how to act according to the method he has developed during his time abroad, but as his programme unfolds,he begins to struggle to separate the line between fantasy and reality.
