Datarama is a regular show and tell event for digital makers and artists. Come along to share new ideas, work in progress or projects you are working on.
On Friday 26 April, we are hosting a special Datarama event which will be led by artist and researcher Isabella Streffen, who will be talking about secret networks and hidden data.
Come along and join us in the informal and friendly setting of the Digital Lounge at Tyneside Cinema.
About the Artist
Isabella Streffen is an artist who recently completed her PhD ‘I Spy With My Military Eye: strategies of military vision and their use in fine art practice’ at Newcastle University. She works across media to examine and respond to fundamental problems of politics, perception, technology and narrative.
Since 2009 she has been artist-in–residence at the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Hadrian’s Wall, the Terra Foundation for American Art, and the Library of Congress, where she explored the interfaces between cultural and political institutions.
Isabella is currently a post-doctoral research associate at CRUMB looking at the technologies, meanings and poetics of drones.
Welcome to the website for Pixel Palace, Tyneside Cinema’s digital art programme, which ran from 2008-2014. Here you can explore our archive of exciting art commissions and exhibitions, as well as the artists we worked with over that time.
