About the Artist
British artist Vicki Bennett is an influential sound and visual artist, who also goes by the name People Like Us. Through her innovative sampling, appropriating and cutting up of found footage and archives, she creates audio recordings, films and radio shows that communicate a humorous, dark and surreal view on life.
Vicki has exhibited her work at galleries and venues across the world. including London's Tate Modern, the MEXICO and the Pompidou Centre. She has performed radio sessions for John Peel, and runs an ongoing sound art show on New Jersey's independent radio station WFMU.
